Planting tomato seedlings out
When planting your tomato seedlings into the garden, plant them very deep, so that the first pair of leaves are buried. The plant will develop roots from the buried node and therefore have a much more extensive root system, leading to a more vigorous plant. It also means that if the tops get frosted off, the plant is more likely to regrow from below ground.
